| Essential Duties | The essential duties of Consultants will be assist students with writing-related issues. This may be in person as well as online. |
| Minimum Qualifications | Applicants should be at least a sophomore in standing. Applicants should have passed both Comp I and II with at least a B in each course, but preference will be for an A in each course. Applicants are expected to have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Preference will also be given to applicants who are familiar with both MLA and APA documentation. |
| Job Description Summary | Writing Center Consultants will primarily work six hours a week (two three-hour shifts) in the Writing Center located in Painter Hall. During that time, consultants will assist walk-in students who might need help with essays and other papers. Consultants might help with grammar, development, documentation, and other writing-related issues. When not addressing students in person, consultants will also be expected to respond to any online submissions regarding the same writing-related problems. |
| Hours of Availability | The Writing Center is typically open from 10 AM to 5 PM on Monday through Thursday and 10 AM to Noon on Friday. |
