Position Title PC/Network Specialist

Essential Duties
  • Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades on computer hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Performs installation of network communications equipment, fiber optics, twisted pair, and hardware.
  • Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.
  • Provides hardware and software telephone support to the campus community.
  • Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
  • Provides technical advice to University departments on software and hardware acquisitions.
  • Writes and maintains user documentation, training manuals, and help documents.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience:Ìý
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science, computer information systems, or related field
  • One to two years professional related experience and/or training in personal computing and network computing software, hardware and peripheral support; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
